FUN EASTER CLASSES SLATED

CRITZ, VA (March 8, 2010)—The Reynolds Homestead will be offering two fun workshops in preparation for the upcoming Easter season—“Eggstra Artistic” with Karen Eggleston and “Spring Cookie Workshop” with Lora Mahaffey.

The “Eggstra Artistic” workshop will offer students a choice from two projects using goose eggs to paint and decorate, creating beautiful and non-traditional artwork. Eggleston, owner of Egg Arts, has had her work featured on QVC. She will proved delicious egg-related lunches and snacks for participants.

There are two opportunities to take the class. It will be offered during the week on Tuesday, March 16 and Thursday, March 18 from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. each day. For those who need a weekend class, it will be offered again on Saturday and Sunday, March 20-21. The Saturday session will be 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Sunday’s session is from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. The cost of the course is $55, which includes lunch. A $6 material fee, payable to Eggleston, is due at the time of the class to cover materials.

Mahaffey’s “Spring Cookie Workshop” will be held Friday and Saturday, March 19-20. She will teach students how to make perfectly decorated cookies for spring and Easter! Learn the professional tricks like “run-outs” and creating quick fondant flowers. Students will take home six oversized, decorated cookies. Bring an apron, a rolling pin, and something to take your cookies home in. Recipes and a resource list will be provided.

Students will begin on Friday with a session from 6:00 p.m.– 9:00 p.m., and then continue on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. The cost of the workshop is $55 and includes all materials.

To register for either of the workshops, call the Reynolds Homestead at 276-694-7181 or visit the website www.reynoldshomstead.vt.edu and download a registration form from the calendar of events, or you may reply to this e-mail.
