Virginia Tourism Conducts Tourism Industry Study

3/2/10 - Virginia Tourism Corporation will be conducting a strategic research study conerning the needs of the Tourism Industry. VTC has hired the Southeastern Institute of Research, Inc. (SIR), a professional marketing research firm, to conduct an online survey

Dear Tourism Professional:

Greetings! I hope this email finds you thawing out and excited for the year ahead. The Virginia Tourism Corporation continues to be committed to serving the needs of the tourism industry in order to ensure economic prosperity for the industry and for the many tourism businesses in The Commonwealth.

Today, I am writing to you to inform you about an important strategic research study concerning the needs of Virginia’s tourism industry and how the Virginia Tourism Corporation (VTC) meets those needs. VTC is excited about this study, and we are counting on your input to help guide the organization as we enhance our program offerings, service priorities, and overall support for the industry.

To this end, VTC has hired the Southeastern Institute of Research, Inc. (SIR), a professional marketing research firm, to conduct an online survey among tourism professionals throughout the Commonwealth.

Early next week, you will receive an email from them inviting you to participate in the survey, which will include a link that you can use to access the survey. Please take a few minutes and provide your honest, thoughtful and completely confidential answers to this study.

Findings from the study will help direct VTC to better serve Virginia’s tourism industry. Your input will be kept completely confidential and will only be reported in aggregate to us. This survey should take you approximately 10 to 15 minutes to complete and will be used, along with responses from others in the industry, to improve VTC’s industry outreach program.

As a token of appreciation of our time, all participants completing the survey will have the option of being entered into a drawing for a half-page ad in our travel guide.

The survey will remain open until March 15, 2010, so please make sure to complete the survey by that date.

Please be on the lookout for the email and thank you, in advance, for your participation in this important initiative.

Best regards,
Alisa Bailey
Virginia Tourism Corporation
